# Pull a company's funding history from its domain in one call

Give company.funding a domain and it returns the company's funding history: total raised, the latest round, and each round with its type, amount, date, investors and a news link when one is known. Use it to size an account or to time outreach after a raise. It reads one company per call; it does not list who raised this week.

## The call

[`company.funding`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/company.funding): Funding history for a company: rounds, amounts, dates, investors and the latest round. The database route also lists the government awards it has detected as events (a grant, a sole-source contract, an SBIR) with the news link.

Price on this network: $0.042 per match. The exact quote is shown before every run.

## How to do it

1. **Start from the domain.** Use the company's website domain, not its name. One call covers one company.
2. **Call company.funding.** The response holds total_funding, latest_round and funding_rounds, each round with its investors and a news_url when known.
3. **Read the latest round.** latest_round has the type, amount and date, enough to decide if the raise is recent enough to mention.
4. **Add context.** Run company.jobs on the same company to see whether the money is turning into hiring.

## Ask it like this

- Get the funding history of ramp.com and tell me how much it raised in the last twelve months. (`company.funding`)
- For these ten domains, pull the latest round and keep the ones that raised since July. (`company.funding`)
- Check the latest round for our top account, then list its open sales roles. (`company.funding`, `company.jobs`)

## Worth knowing

- **Dates are to the month.** Rounds in this run were dated on the first of the month. Use the news link for the exact day.
- **Round names vary.** A round can come back as Series F or as Venture (Round not Specified). Group on amount and date, not only on the label.
- **One company per call.** This is a lookup by domain. For a market wide list of fresh rounds in a date window, use funding.rounds.

## Questions

### What do I pass?

One company domain, such as ramp.com. The call returns that company's rounds.

### Am I charged when no funding is found?

No. The capability bills only when funding data exists for the domain.

### Does it include investors?

Yes, each round lists the investors on record, and the response has a combined investors list.

### Can it find companies that just raised?

Not this call. funding.rounds lists announced rounds across the market for a date window.

### Where does the data come from?

Several funding data providers sit behind the call; the first one that has the company answers.
