# One REST call from a domain to a company record your code can store

POST capability company.enrich with input domain to /v1/run and get the company as JSON under result: company.name, description, website and LinkedIn URL, then industry, employee_range, employee_count, founded and location, with fields such as followers and specialties when the answering provider has them. Every response carries the run_id and the charge.

## How to do it

1. **Get a key.** Create one in the dashboard and send it as a Bearer token.
2. **POST the domain.** Send capability company.enrich with input domain, and linkedin_url if you have it.
3. **Read the record.** result.company holds name, description and links; industry, employee_count, founded and location sit beside it.
4. **Store with the run_id.** Save the run_id next to the record so you can trace where each value came from.

## Ask it like this

- Write a script that enriches each domain in our CRM export and fills industry, headcount and HQ. (`company.enrich`)
- For each company in this list, get its firmographics and its site technologies, then mark the ones on Shopify. (`company.enrich`, `company.technologies`)

```
```bash
npm install -g routergrowth && routergrowth setup
routergrowth run -c company.enrich -i '{"domain": "canva.com"}'
```
```bash

```
## Worth knowing
- **Band and count can disagree.** This record shows a 1001-5000 band and a count of 20,019. They come from different fields on the source, so check both before you segment.
- **Same keys, varying extras.** The core keys stay the same whichever provider answers; extras such as followers or departments depend on it.
- **Optional linkedin_url.** Passing the LinkedIn company URL skips a name lookup on one route and lowers the odds of a wrong match.
## Questions
### Is the schema the same for every provider?
The core fields are. Extra fields appear only when the provider has them.
### Can I look up a company by name?
The domain is required. A LinkedIn company URL can be added next to it.
### Is there a bulk endpoint?
Use batch_run to send up to 200 domains in one request, one run per domain.
### Does it return funding?
A funding field exists but is often empty. This run returned none.
