# Gmail for your AI agent: send and read from the mailbox you already use

RouterGrowth connects an agent to your existing Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox through one MCP server: send an email, reply inside a thread, and search or read what came back. You authorize it once with Google, and the same key covers the list building that comes before the send.

## What your agent can do

| Capability | What it returns | Providers | From | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| [`gmail.account`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/gmail.account) | Connect, reconnect or check an existing Gmail account: authorize your existing Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox through Google OAuth. Without a name, reports connected accounts first. Connection and status checks are free; connected accounts are billed monthly. | Unipile | $0 per call | live |
| [`gmail.send`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/gmail.send) | Send email from an existing Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox connected with gmail.account. Pass in_reply_to from gmail.messages to reply in a thread. This does not provision an AgentMail inbox. | Unipile | $0.0088 per message | live |
| [`gmail.messages`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/gmail.messages) | Read sent and received emails in a connected Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox, newest first. Search, filter, paginate, or fetch one message_id with its text and HTML body. | Unipile | $0.002 per call | live |
| [`gmail.accounts`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/gmail.accounts) | List this workspace's connected Gmail accounts, identity and live status. Free; run before connecting another account. | Unipile | $0 per call | live |

## Ask it like this

- Reply to everyone who answered my last campaign and has not heard back in three days. (`gmail.messages`, `gmail.send`)
- Send this follow-up to the 20 people on the list from my own address, one thread each. (`gmail.send`)
- Search my sent mail for anyone at these companies and tell me who never replied. (`gmail.messages`)

## Connect

MCP server: `https://api.routergrowth.com/mcp` (OAuth, or an API key header).

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http routergrowth https://api.routergrowth.com/mcp
```

```bash
npm install -g routergrowth && routergrowth setup
routergrowth run -c gmail.account -i '{"name": "work"}'
```

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.routergrowth.com/v1/run \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ROUTERGROWTH_API_KEY" \
  -d '{"capability": "gmail.account", "input": {"name": "work"}}'
```

## Worth knowing

- **Your mailbox, your name.** Mail goes out from the address you already use, with its history and reputation. You are the sender of record.
- **Authorized with Google.** The connection uses Google's own sign-in. A connected mailbox is billed monthly; connecting and checking status are free.
- **For cold volume, use sending inboxes.** A personal mailbox is for replies and warm follow-ups. Cold sequences belong on dedicated inboxes on a separate domain, which the cold email tools set up.

## Questions

### Is there a Gmail MCP server?

RouterGrowth is an MCP server with Gmail send, reply and read as tools, on the mailbox you connect. It works in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor.

### Can my agent send email from my Gmail address?

Yes. gmail.send sends from your connected Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox and replies in a thread when you pass the message it answers.

### Can it read my inbox?

It reads the connected mailbox when the agent calls gmail.messages: search, filter, paginate or fetch one message with its body. Nothing is read outside a call you make.

### Should I send cold email from Gmail?

Not at volume. Use it for follow-ups and replies, and send cold sequences from warmed inboxes on a separate domain.
