# See which Reddit threads Google ranks for a keyword

Put site:reddit.com in front of a keyword and seo.serp returns Google's results for it: position, title, URL and snippet of each Reddit thread that ranks. These are the threads people reach from Google, and the ones AI answers often draw on, which can differ from what Reddit's own search shows.

## The call

[`seo.serp`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/seo.serp): Live Google or Bing results for a keyword and location, with SERP features and AI Overview presence.

Price on this network: $0.0035 per results page. The exact quote is shown before every run.

## What a real run returned

Run on 2026-10-26: 10 records in 12.1 s for $0.007. Personal fields are masked. Ten Google results for site:reddit.com plus a note taking keyword, all on reddit.com, led by two r/productivity threads.

| position | title | community |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Best Note-Taking App for Students, Professionals, and ... | r/productivity |
| 2 | Best Free Notetaking app? (switching from Evernote) | r/productivity |
| 3 | r/iPadPro - Best note taking app. | r/iPadPro |

## How to do it

1. **Write the keyword.** site:reddit.com, then the search a buyer types, such as best note taking app.
2. **Call seo.serp.** Set the location. The results keep Google's order, with title, URL and snippet.
3. **Keep reddit.com rows.** Filter on the domain field so only Reddit threads stay in the list.
4. **Read the threads.** Pass the top thread URLs to social.comments to see what the ranking answers say.

## Ask it like this

- Which Reddit threads rank in Google for best note taking app, and what do their top comments recommend? (`seo.serp`, `social.comments`)
- For our five category keywords, list the Reddit threads Google ranks and the subreddits they sit in. (`seo.serp`)

## Worth knowing

- **Filter on the domain.** In a test, the same keyword on another route mixed non Reddit pages into the results. Keep the rows whose domain is reddit.com.
- **Google order, not Reddit order.** These are Google rankings. social.search shows what Reddit itself returns for the phrase.
- **Location matters.** Rankings change by country and city. Pass the market you sell in.

## Questions

### Why search Reddit through Google?

Buyers often add reddit to a search, and Google decides which threads they open. This shows those threads.

### Does it read the comments?

No. It returns the results page. social.comments reads a thread.

### Can I use Bing?

Yes. Set engine to bing for Bing results.

### Is this Google's API?

No. RouterGrowth runs the search through its own providers, independent of Google and Reddit.
