# Scrape the comments under a brand's Instagram post

Paste the URL of a public Instagram post. RouterGrowth scrapes the comments under it and returns each one as a record with its text, author handle, likes and time, so the agent can pull out product requests, complaints or questions without you scrolling the thread.

## The call

[`social.comments`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/social.comments): Comments on one public post URL (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, and replies to a post on X): text, author, likes, replies, time.

Price on this network: $0.004025 per comment, $0.002 minimum a call. The exact quote is shown before every run.

## What a real run returned

Run on 2026-10-19: 10 records in 4.8 s for $0.04025. Personal fields are masked. Ten comments on a Summer Fridays post from the day before the run. The first one is a product request.

| text | author | likes | created_at |
|---|---|---|---|
| @summerfridays you all NEED to release a lip mask | @ar*** | 0 | 2026-10-19 |
| Love this natural beauty glow! The lip stands out in the best way! 🫦 | @ka*** | 0 | 2026-10-19 |
| absolutely perfect | @au*** | 0 | 2026-10-18 |

## How to do it

1. **Find the post.** Paste a post URL, or have social.posts list a brand's recent posts and pick the one with the most replies.
2. **Scrape the thread.** social.comments takes the URL and a limit and returns the comments, newest first in this run.
3. **Ask what is in it.** Have the agent group the comments into requests, complaints and praise, or find every one that names a competitor.

## Ask it like this

- Scrape the comments on this Instagram post and list every product people ask the brand to make. (`social.comments`)
- Take the five most commented posts from this brand this month and summarise the complaints across them. (`social.posts`, `social.comments`)

```
## Worth knowing
- **Reply counts may be empty.** On this Instagram run the replies field came back empty for every comment. Text, author, likes and time were filled.
- **One post per call.** The input is one post URL. For several posts, the agent runs them one after another.
- **Public posts only.** Comments on private accounts are out of reach, and nothing is posted or liked on your behalf.
## Questions
### What does each comment include?
The comment text, author handle, likes, created_at and the post URL. Reply counts are not always filled on Instagram.
### Do I need to log in to Instagram?
No. The scraper reads public posts with no account of yours.
### Can it reply to comments?
No. social.comments only reads.
### How many comments can I get?
Set the limit. Start with 10 to check the thread, then raise it.
