# Scrape the newest posts of any public subreddit into clean rows

Tell your agent which subreddit to watch and it returns the newest public posts as rows: title, body, date, likes and link. Run the same call each week to see what is new. No scraper of your own, no proxies and no login.

## The call

[`social.posts`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/social.posts): Recent public posts for a social handle.

Price on this network: $0.00665 per post plus $0.07 per call, $0.002 minimum a call. The exact quote is shown before every run.

## What a real run returned

Run on 2026-10-19: 1 records in 181.2 s for $0.07665. Personal fields are masked. r/marketing with a limit of five returned a single readable post this time, a question about switching sectors, which shows a quiet read can come back short.

| text | community | posted |
|---|---|---|
| How are we switching sectors these days? | r/marketing | 2026-10-15 |

## How to do it

1. **Choose the subreddits.** List the communities your buyers read. Each one is a separate call with handle r/name.
2. **Scrape the posts.** social.posts returns the recent public posts it can read, up to your limit.
3. **Store the rows.** Ask the agent to add them to a sheet or a workspace table keyed by post URL, so repeats are skipped.
4. **Repeat on a schedule.** Run it weekly and compare with the last table to see only the new posts.

## Ask it like this

- Every Monday, scrape the new posts in r/marketing and r/PPC and add them to a table called marketing-reddit. (`social.posts`)
- Scrape r/marketing, keep posts that ask for tool recommendations, and pull the comments on each. (`social.posts`, `social.comments`)

MCP server: `https://api.routergrowth.com/mcp`

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http routergrowth https://api.routergrowth.com/mcp
```

```bash
npm install -g routergrowth && routergrowth setup
routergrowth run -c social.posts -i '{"platform": "reddit", "handle": "r/marketing", "limit": 5}'
```

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.routergrowth.com/v1/run \
  -d '{"capability": "social.posts", "input": {"platform": "reddit", "handle": "r/marketing", "limit": 5}}'
```

## Worth knowing

- **Short reads happen.** Some reads return fewer posts than the limit, as this one did. Retry later or add a second subreddit.
- **Posts, not comments.** Comment threads are a second call with social.comments on the post URL.
- **No login used.** Only what a logged-out visitor sees is scraped.

## Questions

### How recent are the posts?

They are the newest posts the provider reads at the time of the call.

### Can I scrape several subreddits at once?

Each subreddit is one call. An agent can run several in a row or as a batch.

### Will I see deleted posts?

No. Posts removed before the read are not returned.

### Do I need a Reddit account?

No. Only a RouterGrowth key or the MCP connector.
