# A hosted Reddit scraper your agent runs by naming a subreddit

Name a subreddit and get its recent public posts with likes, replies, body text and links. The scraping runs on hosted providers, so there is no script to maintain, no proxy pool to rent and no block to work around when Reddit changes its pages.

## The call

[`social.posts`](https://www.routergrowth.com/catalog/social.posts): Recent public posts for a social handle.

Price on this network: $0.00665 per post plus $0.07 per call, $0.002 minimum a call. The exact quote is shown before every run.

## What a real run returned

Run on 2026-10-19: 4 records in 108.3 s for $0.0966. Personal fields are masked. Four recent posts from r/Entrepreneur, including a branding question with 20 replies and the weekly mentorship thread.

| text | community | likes | replies |
|---|---|---|---|
| One Construction Brand or Multiple Specialized Brands? | r/Entrepreneur | 6 | 20 |
| Monday mentorship: ask anything / October 19, 2026 | r/Entrepreneur | 1 | 2 |

## How to do it

1. **Ask in plain words.** Tell the agent which subreddit to read and how many posts. It calls social.posts with r/name.
2. **Let the provider scrape.** The hosted scraper fetches the posts. If one provider fails, the router tries the next one allowed by your cap.
3. **Get clean rows.** Each post comes back with text, body, likes, replies, date and URL, the same fields every time.
4. **Keep going.** Open the busy threads with social.comments, or search for a phrase across Reddit with social.search.

## Ask it like this

- Scrape the last 20 posts in r/Entrepreneur and list the questions about pricing or branding. (`social.posts`)
- Read r/Entrepreneur, pick the three posts with the most replies and summarise what commenters advise. (`social.posts`, `social.comments`)

```
## Worth knowing
- **Nothing to maintain.** No scraper code, headless browser or proxy list on your side. Page changes are the provider's problem.
- **Minutes, not seconds.** A subreddit scrape can take one to three minutes. Plan for it in a script or let the agent wait.
- **Public posts.** Only public subreddits are read. The call does not log in, post or vote.
## Questions
### Will Reddit block my scraper?
There is no scraper on your side to block. Requests run through hosted providers.
### Can I scrape comments as well?
Yes, call social.comments with a thread URL. social.posts returns posts.
### Can I export the posts?
The rows come back as JSON. Ask the agent to write them to CSV, a sheet or a workspace table.
### Does it scrape user profiles?
No. It reads communities and their posts. RouterGrowth does not scrape private persons' Reddit histories.
