# Read a TikTok account's recent videos through one REST or MCP call

Send a public TikTok handle and a limit. RouterGrowth returns the account's recent videos as JSON: video URL, caption, date, views, likes, replies and reposts. One RouterGrowth key works for it, with no TikTok for Developers app, no review and no user authorization.

## How to do it

1. **One key.** Mint a RouterGrowth key, or connect the MCP server to Claude, Cursor or Claude Code.
2. **Call /v1/run.** Send capability social.posts with platform tiktok, the handle and a limit. A max_cost in routing caps the charge.
3. **Parse the posts array.** Each video has id, url, text, created_at, author, an engagement object (likes, replies, reposts, views) and is_video.
4. **Chain.** Pass a video URL to social.comments, or the handle to social.profile for followers and bio link.

## Worth knowing

- **Independent of TikTok.** This is not TikTok's own API. RouterGrowth reads public videos; it does not use the Display, Content Posting or Research APIs.
- **Same shape as other networks.** The record fields match social.posts on Instagram, YouTube or X, so one parser handles all of them.
- **Read-only.** Nothing is posted, liked or followed. The call only reads public data.

## Questions

### Is this the official TikTok API?

No. It is an independent API for public TikTok data. You do not register a developer app or ask the account owner to authorize you.

### What does the JSON look like?

A run object with run_id, status and billing, and result.posts: one item per video with url, text, created_at, author and engagement.

### Can it read any account?

Any public account. Private accounts return nothing.

### Does it return the video file?

No. You get the video URL and its data, not the media.
