# Find the tweets that mention a topic, with views and replies

Type a keyword or phrase and social.search returns the matching public posts on X: text, author, date, likes, replies, reposts and views, plus the link to each tweet. Use it to find who is talking about a problem this week, or to locate one tweet you half remember.

## How to do it

1. **Pick the words.** A phrase in quotes finds the exact wording; loose words find more.
2. **Call social.search.** platform x, the query and a limit. Each post has its url, text, author and engagement.
3. **Sort what came back.** Sort by views or replies to find the posts that started a conversation.
4. **Follow up.** social.comments on a tweet URL returns its replies; social.profile reads the author.

## Worth knowing

- **Newest first.** Results came back from the latest tweet backward. For older tweets, add since: and until: dates to the query.
- **Replies show up too.** Replies that use the words are matched like any tweet. Drop text that starts with @ if you only want original posts.
- **Read only.** Nothing is liked, posted or followed. RouterGrowth is independent of X.

### Can I find one exact tweet?

Put a distinctive phrase in quotes. X also reads operators such as from:handle inside the query, so try it with a small limit.

### Do I get the author?

Yes, the name and handle come with each post. Mask them before you publish.

### How many tweets per call?

Set the limit; you pay for the posts that come back.

### Do I need an X developer account?

No. One RouterGrowth key runs the call.
