ZoomInfo MCP: what the official server does, how credits work, and an alternative without a subscription
What ZoomInfo's own MCP server does and spends, and the calls that find and enrich companies and people when you have no subscription.
$ Set up https://www.routergrowth.com/SKILL.md, then build a list of 25 [industry] companies with 200 to 2,000 employees in [region], enrich each one, and find the VP of Sales with a verified work email.

We make RouterGrowth, the alternative described in the second half of this page, so read it as a vendor's view. Everything about ZoomInfo was taken from ZoomInfo's own pages on 11 October 2026 and is linked at the end. Products change; check the source before you decide.
ZoomInfo MCP is searched by ZoomInfo customers who want their data inside Claude or ChatGPT, and by people who want verified B2B data in an agent and are checking what ZoomInfo asks for. This page covers both: what the official server does, what it costs in credits, and what you can use when you do not have a ZoomInfo subscription.
What is ZoomInfo MCP?
ZoomInfo MCP is ZoomInfo's hosted Model Context Protocol server. It lets an AI assistant query ZoomInfo's company, contact and technographic data inside a conversation. The server address is https://mcp.zoominfo.com/mcp, and each user signs in with their own ZoomInfo login over OAuth.
ZoomInfo's help centre lists the assistants it works with: Claude, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Replit, Slack, Amazon Quick, Von and custom MCP clients.
The toolset follows a find, enrich, research pattern for both companies and people:
| Job | What the assistant can do |
|---|---|
| Find accounts and contacts | search by industry, size, revenue, growth, location, technology, role and seniority |
| Enrich accounts and contacts | add firmographics, technographics, funding, verified business emails and direct dials |
| Research accounts and contacts | a briefing that blends ZoomInfo data with your CRM, signals and conversation history |
| Surface buying signals | intent, scoops and news that show which accounts are in market |
ZoomInfo states that the connection is read-only: the tools cannot write back to ZoomInfo.
What does ZoomInfo MCP cost?
ZoomInfo says the server is included with every subscription at no additional cost and draws on the same credit pools as the web app and the API. There is no separate MCP fee.
| Tool type | What it spends |
|---|---|
| Searching, filter lookups, similar and recommended contacts, setting context | nothing |
| Enriching a company or a contact | one bulk data credit per new record, up to 25 records per call |
| Research agents that write a full briefing | AI action credits, scaled to the question |
Two details matter. A record enriched anywhere in ZoomInfo stays under management for 12 months, so enriching it again in that window costs no further credit. And the server needs bulk data credits: ZoomInfo states it does not work with recurring monthly credits, and that an admin can enable bulk credits on an account that only has monthly ones. Admins can set per-user credit limits, which apply through MCP as well.
For people without a subscription, ZoomInfo's MCP page says its ChatGPT connector is available to anyone, with 100 free credits at sign-up, and its GTM.AI start page lists 1,000 data credits and 1,000 AI credits, one-time. ZoomInfo does not publish plan prices: its pricing page says pricing depends on licenses, credit usage and features.
When is the official ZoomInfo MCP the right choice?
- You already pay for ZoomInfo. The server costs nothing extra and uses credits you hold.
- You want ZoomInfo's own database. Direct dials, its intent data and scoops are its own, and no router resells them.
- You want research that reads your CRM. The research agents combine ZoomInfo data with your CRM history and conversations.
- You need enterprise controls. Each user signs in as themselves and inherits the account's entitlements and credit limits.
What is the alternative when you do not have a ZoomInfo subscription?
RouterGrowth is an MCP server and API that routes the same kinds of lookups to several data providers and charges for each call from a prepaid balance. There is no contract and no seat.
| The job | The call |
|---|---|
| Find companies by keyword, industry and location | company.search |
| Firmographics for a company | company.enrich |
| Find people by title, seniority, headcount and location | people.search |
| A work email, tried across several providers | contact.find |
| A mobile number | contact.phone |
| The technology a company runs | company.technologies |
| Funding rounds | company.funding |
A lookup that finds nothing is not charged. The lead generation tools page lists each call with its providers, buying signals covers hiring, funding and technology triggers, and ZoomInfo alternatives compares seven tools on price.
What it does not do: it is not ZoomInfo's database. The data comes from the providers named on each capability's page, coverage differs, and there is no intent feed like ZoomInfo's. It does not read your CRM. On the other side, it is not read-only: the same key sends the email or the LinkedIn request once the list exists.
How do ZoomInfo MCP and RouterGrowth compare?
| ZoomInfo MCP | RouterGrowth | |
|---|---|---|
| What you need first | a ZoomInfo subscription with bulk data credits, or the free credits | a key, or an OAuth sign-in from the assistant |
| What you pay | credits from your ZoomInfo package | each call, from a prepaid balance |
| Data | ZoomInfo's own database, signals and scoops | several providers, chosen per call |
| Searching | free | priced per result, a fraction of a cent a person |
| Actions | read-only | sends email, LinkedIn requests and messages |
| Best for | ZoomInfo customers | agents and small teams without a data contract |
Can you use both?
Yes. Both are MCP servers. A ZoomInfo customer can keep ZoomInfo for account research and direct dials and add a pay-per-call server for sending, SEO or social data, which ZoomInfo's server does not cover.

What does each call cost?#
Prices below are the starting price per successful call. /v1/inspect returns the exact figure before the run and reserves it against your balance; failures and unbilled no-matches release the hold in full.
| Capability | What it returns | From | Providers |
|---|---|---|---|
| company.search | Companies matching a keyword, optionally filtered by location: name, website, industry, size, headquarters and description. A company database answers first; a live LinkedIn company search follows when it finds nothing. | $0.002 | |
| company.enrich | Firmographics for a company from its domain. | $0.005 | |
| people.search | Build a people list from filters: titles, seniority, company headcount, location, industry keywords. Returns profiles with current role and company. The lead database answers first, from a fraction of a cent a person and without emails: find them with contact.find, or pin the route that returns a known company's people with their work email. | $0.002 | |
| contact.find | Find a professional email from a person and company. | $0.014 | |
| contact.phone | Mobile or direct number for a professional contact from a work email or a LinkedIn profile URL, tried on up to three providers in turn; charged only when found. | $0.163 | |
| company.technologies | Technology stack detected for a company. | $0.016 | |
| company.funding | Funding history for a company: rounds, amounts, dates, investors and the latest round. The database route also lists the government awards it has detected as events (a grant, a sole-source contract, an SBIR) with the news link. | $0.031 | |
One prepaid balance covers every row. Capabilities marked coming soon are listed but not yet executable.
