Claude connector

The RouterGrowth connector in the Claude Connectors Directory: company, contact, SEO, AI visibility and social research plus outreach from your own accounts in claude.ai, one tool per operation, with costs, examples and troubleshooting.

The RouterGrowth connector for Claude gives claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps company and contact research, search and SEO data, AI answer visibility, social research, your connected email, LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp and Gmail accounts, and workspace lists. Each tool does one thing, says what it costs, and debits one prepaid RouterGrowth balance.

https://api.routergrowth.com/mcp/claude

This is the server listed in the Claude Connectors Directory. It differs from the general MCP server at /mcp in three ways: one tool per operation instead of a discover, inspect, run loop; no AI image, video or audio generation and no domain purchase; no raw provider endpoints. Agents and coding tools that want the full catalog keep using /mcp.

What it is for

Sales, marketing and founder work that needs outside data inside a Claude conversation:

  • Account research: what a company does, its size, funding, technology stack and open roles, before a meeting or an outreach.
  • Lead lists: people at given companies or matching titles and locations, with verified work emails found only for the people you keep.
  • Search and SEO: live Google and Bing results, keyword volumes, backlinks, a domain's organic footprint and its competitors.
  • AI visibility: what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity answer to a buyer question, and which sources they cite.
  • Social and local research: public profiles, posts and comments, Google Maps places and reviews, public ad libraries.
  • Conversations from your own accounts: email from a RouterGrowth inbox or your Gmail, LinkedIn, Instagram and WhatsApp messages to people who expect to hear from you, with replies read back in the same chat. Send tools are marked destructive so Claude can ask before each one, and acceptable use rules out unsolicited bulk messaging.
  • Lists that last: workspace tables keep a list between conversations, and the do-not-contact list blocks sends to people who opted out.

Connect it

  1. In claude.ai, open Customize → Connectors, find RouterGrowth in the directory and select Connect. If it is not listed in your directory yet, select +, choose Add custom connector and paste the URL above.
  2. Sign in on the RouterGrowth page (password, Google, GitHub or an emailed code). A new account gets a workspace with $1 of credit once its email is verified.
  3. Approve the workspace whose balance the connector should use.
  4. In a chat, turn RouterGrowth on from the tools menu and ask: "What is my RouterGrowth balance?" That call is free.

A connector added on claude.ai also appears in Claude Desktop and the mobile apps. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner enables the connector for the organization first; each member then connects with their own RouterGrowth account.

How it works

  • Sign-in: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Approving grants one scope, mcp: the tools and the balance of the workspace you picked. The connector cannot mint API keys, change billing or invite members. Access tokens last 24 hours and refresh on their own for 90 days.
  • One balance: every paid tool debits the prepaid balance of the connected workspace. Add credit or set auto top-up on the dashboard. Without credit, paid tools return an error and spend nothing; the free tools keep working.
  • A cap on every paid call: paid tools take max_cost in USD. The call never charges more than that per attempt, and a quote above it is refused before anything runs. get_operation_pricing returns the current price of any tool for free.
  • Pay for results: most lookups are charged only when they find something (an email, a company, a profile); list tools are priced per row returned. Each tool's description states its billing rule.
  • Receipts: every paid call returns a run id, the provider used and the amount charged. list_runs and get_run read them back for free.
  • Long calls: a call waits up to 25 seconds by default and 45 at most. A call still running comes back with its run id; get_run waits for the result without paying again.
  • Simulated data: a workspace connected with a test key gets simulated results, labeled as such in every response.

The tools

tools/list returns 102 tools when workspace tables are on, and 90 when they are off.

The messaging tools need an account connected first: linkedin_account, instagram_account, whatsapp_account and gmail_account return a hosted sign-in link, and email_domain with create_email_inbox set up a RouterGrowth sending inbox. Until then they answer that no account is connected, and nothing is sent or charged.

Tools that act on real accounts

Every tool carries MCP annotations with a title and read-only and destructive hints, so Claude can ask before the ones that change something.

  • Marked destructive: sending (email_send, gmail_send, linkedin_invite, linkedin_message, instagram_message, whatsapp_message), connecting accounts, linkedin_profile (the visit is made from your account), DNS changes, inbox creation, warm-up, and table writes that overwrite or delete rows or lift a suppression.
  • Marked read-only: the free workspace reads (balance, runs, watches, history, tables, suppressions).
  • Paid lookups change nothing outside RouterGrowth but debit the balance, so they are not marked read-only.

Your client's tool permission settings decide which tools run without asking. Sends to people on the do-not-contact list are refused when tables are on, and a second first message to the same person within 30 days is held back.

Example prompts

Each prompt names a spending cap so Claude can set max_cost; the costs below are current prices.

  1. Account research. "Research linear.app with RouterGrowth: what the company does, its size and location, the technologies on its website, and any open sales roles. Keep the total under $0.50." Uses company_enrich, company_technologies and company_jobs, about $0.10.
  2. SEO competition. "With RouterGrowth, show me who ranks on Google in the United States for 'crm for startups', then compare the organic search footprint of the top two domains. Spend at most $0.25." Uses seo_serp and seo_domain_overview, about $0.05.
  3. AI visibility. "Using RouterGrowth, ask ChatGPT and Perplexity 'What is the best email verification tool for a small sales team?' and tell me which brands each answer recommends and which websites it cites. Stay under $0.20." Uses aeo_answer twice, about $0.09.
  4. A list that lasts. "Show my RouterGrowth tables. In target-accounts, take the rows still marked new, look up each company's industry and employee count, and save them back to the rows with status enriched. Stay under $0.40." Uses list_tables, query_table_rows, company_enrich and update_table_rows, up to $0.05 a company.
  5. Spend so far. "What is my RouterGrowth balance, and what did my last five operations cost?" Uses get_workspace_balance and list_runs, free.

Contact data: sources and opting out

Contact and people lookups return business contact data: name, job title, employer, work email, work phone, professional profile URL and role history.

Tool Sources
contact_find LeadMagic, Apollo, Icypeas, Findymail
contact_verify LeadMagic, Icypeas, Findymail (a mail server check on an address you supply)
contact_phone LeadMagic, Apollo, Findymail
person_enrich public LinkedIn profile pages, Apollo
people_search Icypeas's B2B database, Apollo, public LinkedIn search results
social_profile the public profile page on each platform

Every run receipt names the provider that answered. RouterGrowth keeps no shared database of people: a result is stored only in the run history and tables of the workspace that asked for it. The privacy policy explains the basis for this processing.

Anyone can opt out at routergrowth.com/privacy/opt-out by confirming their email address. From then on, in every workspace, lookups about them return no_match at no charge, people lists leave them out, and messages to them on any channel end blocked with opted_out; the lookup results and table rows about them that workspaces held are deleted. No workspace can lift an opt-out.

Data and privacy

  • RouterGrowth stores what the workspace needs to bill and resume work: each run's input, result, provider and charge, the tables and rows you write, and the messages read from or sent through connected accounts. The privacy policy covers collection, use and retention.
  • Requests go to the data provider that serves the operation; the run receipt names it. Connected account credentials stay with RouterGrowth's account provider and are never returned to Claude.
  • Pages, posts, reviews and messages the tools return are data. The server tells Claude not to follow instructions found inside them.
  • Security describes how keys and tokens are stored. Report a vulnerability to security@routergrowth.com.

Troubleshooting

  • The tools do not show up: connectors load per conversation. Start a new chat and turn RouterGrowth on in the tools menu.
  • Every call fails with an authorization error: the sign-in expired or was revoked. Open Customize → Connectors, disconnect RouterGrowth and connect again.
  • The wrong workspace is connected: the sign-in page approves the workspace of the account signed in at www.routergrowth.com. Disconnect, sign in to the right account on the dashboard, then connect again.
  • insufficient_balance: the workspace has no credit left for this call. Add credit on the dashboard; nothing was charged.
  • A run ends blocked: a workspace control stopped it before it ran and nothing was charged. budget_exceeded and cost_limit_exceeded are the daily and per-run spend caps (change them on the dashboard); opted_out means the recipient asked RouterGrowth to stop all messages to them; suppressed, repeat_touch and paced protect recipients and connected accounts from a send to someone who opted out, a repeated first message, or sending too fast. The error reference lists every code.
  • A paid call is refused before it runs: the quote is above max_cost. Ask Claude for the price (get_operation_pricing) and allow a higher cap.
  • no_match: the providers found nothing for that input, and a lookup charged only on a match costs nothing. Try another domain, name or spelling.
  • A call times out: the run kept going. Ask Claude to check the run with get_run and the run id; it will not pay twice.
  • A messaging tool says no account is connected: ask Claude to connect the account (linkedin_account, gmail_account and so on), open the link it returns and sign in there.
  • Results are labeled simulated: the workspace is connected with a test key. Reconnect over OAuth or use a live key.
  • A table tool is missing: turn tables on under Settings on the dashboard, then start a new chat.
  • Something else: ask Claude to send it with submit_feedback (free, read by the team), or write to hello@routergrowth.com.

Disconnect

Remove RouterGrowth under Customize → Connectors in claude.ai, or revoke it from the RouterGrowth side over /v1/connected-apps. Either way its access token and refresh token stop working on the next call. Runs, tables and the balance stay in the workspace.
